a month agoSmall but very well done museum – 6 thematic rooms, traditional costumes, embroidered towels, Grandparents' House and an impressive memory room. Frescoes painted on the walls, authentic exhibits and passionate guides. Worth a stop if you are passing through Cahul. Visited on the occasion of the launch of the Village Museums project.

Seeing a place, a story or an object online should make you want to go there, see it with your own eyes, meet the people and live the experience.And Slobozia Mare is exactly the kind of place that is worth discovering. I would say that it is a real stopover village for travelers crossing Moldova, especially for those who want to discover the beauty of the Lower Prut Plain and Lake Beleu.Here you will find not only nature, but also authentic experiences: local hospitality, traditions, gastronomy and the opportunity to discover crafts and customs through practical workshops - from masterclasses in traditional cooking to sewing and other local crafts.I was greeted with extraordinary hospitality, with full meals, bread and salt, and the gastronomic experience was completed by the delicious curly pies with sheep's cheese and pumpkin, typical of the area.For those who want to stay longer, there are also accommodation options, including the La Donna Guesthouse, which makes Slobozia Mare a great base for exploring the area.I think this is the beauty of rural tourism: you don't just come to "see" a sight, you come to meet people, taste, learn and understand a place.Digital can awaken curiosity. The ethnographic exhibitions perfectly reproduce the authenticity of rural life of the past, from crafts to the popular clothing specific to the area.
