Guest house "La gura cuptorului"
In the picturesque village of Văleni, a one-of-a-kind museum has been delighting visitors for over a decade under the passionate care of the charismatic Vera Caminschi. This hidden gem invites you to immerse yourself in the rich traditions of ceremonial bread-making, unveiling the stories behind 12 distinct types of wedding bread, each imbued with profound cultural significance. The museum’s collection also boasts an array of traditional artifacts, from vintage farming tools to exquisite wool carpets and intricately hand-embroidered towels.
Beyond the museum’s treasures, guests are invited to roll up their sleeves and join engaging bread-baking workshops, savoring the warm, freshly baked bread paired with aromatic herbal tea and golden honey. Nestled in the museum’s charming courtyard, the “La Gura Cuptorului” guesthouse offers cozy accommodations for up to seven guests, providing a truly authentic and welcoming rural retreat.
With over two decades of expertise in the art of baking, Mrs. Vera is also preparing to launch a dedicated baking studio, where visitors can master the secrets of this cherished tradition. For those craving a deeper connection to the region, the guesthouse offers scenic hiking trails, rounding out an unforgettable journey into the heart of southern Moldova’s rural heritage.
