On a historic hill in the village of Slobozia Mare, not far from the city of Cahul, lies a hidden gem of Moldovan winemaking: Domeniile Pană.
Here, winemaker Nicolae Minciună—inspired by experience gained as far away as New Zealand—has breathed new life into local traditions.
He transforms grapes from old vines, some over 60 years old, into wines with a distinct character and a unique story.
What makes Domeniile Pană a standout destination among the wineries of Cahul is its artisanal approach and authenticity.
Visitors are invited to participate in guided tastings led by Nicolae himself, where they can explore a variety of grapes.
These range from classics like Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot to unique blends featuring Codrinskii, a local Moldovan variety.
Reviews frequently praise the top-tier wines and the family’s warm hospitality, which makes every visit a memorable experience.
A visit to Domeniile Pană is an immersion into the viticultural culture of southern Moldova.
You can choose from various tasting packages, ranging from a simple exploration of three wines accompanied by seasonal snacks to more complex experiences that include local gastronomy carefully prepared by the host, Ina.
The menu—which might include a traditional zeamă (noodle soup) or chicken stew with vegetables—is specially created to enhance the aromas of the wines, striking a perfect balance between traditional dishes and signature wines.
Whether you are looking for small, family-owned estates or Moldovan wineries that offer authentic products and intimate experiences, Domeniile Pană is the perfect spot.
Here, you will discover wines created with heart and feel a deep connection to tradition and the land—a place well worth a visit for any wine enthusiast.

11 months agoI discovered Domeniile Pană at a wine tasting in Chisinau and, honestly, I was deeply impressed. The taste of their wines won me over from the first moment – so authentic, refined and full of character that they are incomparable to anything else I have tasted before. I liked it so much that I decided to take my family and go all the way to Slobozia Mare to live the full experience right there, at the source. And it was totally worth it! The wines have a special soul, and the people behind them – an extraordinary family – put so much passion and dedication into everything they do. Thank you for this unforgettable experience!

11 months agoThe wines cannot be beat… truly top notch. And yet what makes the wine tasting experience simply extraordinary is the ambiance and expertise created / demonstrated by Nicolai and Ina. Honestly, their wine and the “Tanti Masha” experience — on their own — justify a trip the region. And short of making the trip, contact them to find out where you can buy their wine and other products. Too bad Google won’t let me rate this as 100/100… 5/5 will have to suffice.
